Project Overview:
A dynamic group of 13 passionate youth workers from Rabat gathered to officially launch the “Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea” project. This ambitious 24-month project, funded by the European Union, aims to empower young people by providing them with tools, skills, and knowledge to promote peace and social justice within their communities.

Session Focus:
The kick-off session introduced participants to core project themes including peace education, human rights, and conflict resolution. The goal was to not only build understanding but to create a collaborative space for real-world application.

Participants:
The event welcomed both familiar faces (former volunteers and experienced youth workers) and new, enthusiastic participants many of them university students who learned about the project via social media and word of mouth.

Participants engaged in practical workshops on video editing and digital content creation, which sparked creativity and encouraged innovative thinking around peacebuilding strategies in the region.

Attendees demonstrated increased understanding of human rights and showed improvement in applying intercultural approaches. They practiced conflict resolution techniques through role-play scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving abilities.

Sustainability & Peacebuilding:
The session highlighted the importance of linking sustainable development with peace efforts. Participants explored how long-term environmental and social strategies support lasting peace.
