Social Inclusion & Equal Opportunities
Promoting fair access and belonging for young Moroccans facing social, cultural, or economic barriers. Because the most powerful resource in this country is the youth no one invested in yet.
Inclusion is not a project. It is a principle.
In neighbourhoods across Rabat, Salé, and Témara, talented young Moroccans remain invisible. Not because they lack ability, but because no one created the conditions for them to participate. Economic barriers, geographic isolation, disability, language, and social stigma keep thousands of young people outside the spaces where decisions are made, skills are developed, and opportunities are shared.
Medforumm works directly in these communities. We do not design programmes from a distance. We sit with young people in their neighbourhoods, listen to what they face daily, and co-create solutions with them. Every activity is shaped by the participants themselves through needs assessments and ongoing feedback.
Our social inclusion work targets specific barriers: youth not in education, employment, or training; young people with limited access to cultural and civic spaces; those facing discrimination based on disability, gender, or economic status. We define our target group precisely because vague commitments to inclusion produce vague results.

Our Approach to Inclusion
Non-Formal Education
All sessions use non-formal education methods: learning by doing, group reflection, peer feedback, and experiential exercises. No lectures. No textbooks. Participants learn through structured activities that mirror real-life situations.
Participatory Design
Participants shape the programme. Before each cycle, we conduct a needs assessment with the target community. Workshop content, scheduling, and project themes are adapted based on what participants tell us they need.
Facilitation Standards
Every session is led by a trained youth worker with experience in non-formal education. Facilitator-to-participant ratio is 1:10. All facilitators sign a code of conduct and complete safeguarding training before working with participants.
Safeguarding & Protection
We maintain a safeguarding policy for all programmes. Facilitators undergo background verification. A designated safeguarding officer is available throughout each cycle. Incident reporting procedures are in place.
Accessibility
Venues are selected for wheelchair accessibility. Materials are available in Arabic (MSA and Darija). We accommodate visual, hearing, and learning differences upon request during registration.
Peer-to-Peer Learning
Each participant is paired with a trained peer mentor from the same community. Mentors are programme alumni who completed facilitator training. This builds trust, ensures cultural relevance, and creates a sustainable support network.
Under Social Inclusion & Equal Opportunities
Five targeted programmes, each addressing a specific barrier with a specific group. All delivered in Arabic (MSA and Darija). All free. All Erasmus+ aligned.
Our entry-level inclusion programme. A 6-month structured cycle for young Moroccans aged 18-35 from underserved urban and peri-urban communities. Participants attend weekly Saturday sessions covering self-confidence, peer mentoring, community project design, and inclusive leadership. The programme culminates in a community project designed and led by the participants. All graduates receive a Medforumm Certificate, a recommendation letter, and priority access to Erasmus+ mobility opportunities.
A programme specifically for young Moroccans with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities, or mixed groups where disabled and non-disabled youth work together. Morocco has around 2.3 million people with disabilities, and most youth programmes simply do not accommodate them. Inkluziya trains participants in self-advocacy, provides adapted workshops, and creates mixed-ability teams for community projects. All venues are selected for full accessibility. Materials are adapted for visual, hearing, and learning differences.
A programme targeting NEET youth specifically, specifically young people aged 18-35 who are currently not in education, not employed, and not in any training. Morocco’s NEET rate among young people is one of the highest in the MENA region. Forsa Oula provides the absolute basics that NEET youth missed: digital literacy, CV writing, basic professional communication, interview skills, and a structured routine. The goal is not employment directly, it is getting someone from “doing nothing” to “ready to take the next step.” Outreach is done through community leaders and local associations, not only social media.
Morocco regularised over 50,000 migrants in 2014 and 2017, but social integration remains a daily challenge. Jisr brings young Moroccans and young migrants together for structured dialogue, collaborative projects, and mutual learning. The programme uses storytelling, shared community action, and language exchange to build understanding. It fights prejudice through real contact, not lectures. Each cycle produces a collaborative community project and a public exhibition of shared stories.
A short intensive programme for youth who want to participate in community decision-making but do not know how. Morocco’s 2011 constitution created formal spaces for youth participation, including consultative instances, the right to petition (Article 15), and citizen initiatives (Article 14), but most young people do not know these exist or feel they are “not for them.” Mousharaka bridges that gap. Participants learn how local governance works, attend a real council session, and develop a civic proposal they present to local stakeholders.
Selection Process
Online Application
Complete a short form with your background, motivation, and the barriers you face. No CV required. No academic qualifications needed. We are looking for motivation, not credentials.
Brief Interview
A 15-minute informal conversation (in person or by phone) with a programme coordinator. We want to understand your situation and expectations. This is not a test.
Selection Criteria
Priority is given to: NEET youth, young people with disabilities, low-income households, and applicants from underserved neighbourhoods. Gender balance is maintained in every cohort.
Onboarding
Selected participants receive a welcome pack with the full programme schedule, code of conduct, and an orientation session before the first workshop.
Alumni Pathway
Certificate & Recommendation
Every graduate receives a Medforumm Certificate of Completion and a personalised recommendation letter for job applications, university admissions, or further programmes.
Become a Peer Mentor
Top graduates are invited to join a facilitator training and return as peer mentors in the next cycle. This builds leadership experience and keeps the programme community-driven.
Erasmus+ Priority Access
Programme alumni receive priority consideration for Medforumm’s Erasmus+ opportunities, including youth exchanges, training courses, and European Solidarity Corps placements across Europe.
Alumni Network
All graduates join the Medforumm Alumni Network for job openings, volunteer opportunities, events, and ongoing peer support across Morocco.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Quality
Pre & Post Assessment
Every participant completes a self-assessment at the start and end measuring confidence, communication, sense of belonging, and civic engagement intention.
Session Feedback
After each workshop, participants rate content relevance, facilitator quality, and personal learning. Facilitators adjust upcoming sessions based on this data.
3-Month Follow-Up
Three months after completion, our team contacts every graduate to track employment, education, volunteering, or civic engagement outcomes.
Annual Impact Report
All data is compiled into an annual report shared publicly. We report honestly, including what did not work and what we plan to improve.
