Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship

Equipping young Moroccans with the professional skills, digital competences, and entrepreneurial mindset to build their own future. Because waiting for someone else to create your opportunity is not a strategy.

High
Youth unemployment in Morocco remains among the highest in the MENA region. Many graduates leave university without the practical skills employers actually ask for.
Digital Gap
Basic digital skills like email, Office tools, and professional online presence are assumed by employers but never formally taught to most young Moroccans outside major cities.
No Structure
Thousands of young Moroccans have business ideas but no guidance on business models, pricing, legal registration, or access to microfinance. The idea dies before it starts.
Why This Matters

Empowerment is not motivation. It is preparation.

Young Moroccans do not lack ambition. They lack access. Access to professional skills training that matches what the job market actually demands. Access to digital tools that employers take for granted. Access to structured guidance for turning an idea into a registered business. Access to mentors who have been through the same journey.

Medforumm’s empowerment programmes are not motivational seminars. They are practical, structured training cycles that produce tangible outputs: a professional CV, a functional digital skillset, a complete business plan, a leadership development roadmap. Every programme ends with something the participant can use immediately.

We prioritise youth who are furthest from opportunity: NEET profiles, those without university education, young people in peri-urban areas with limited access to training institutions. Our programmes meet them where they are and build from there.

How We Work

Our Approach to Empowerment

PO

Practical Outputs

Every programme produces a tangible deliverable: a CV, a portfolio, a business plan, a leadership roadmap. Participants leave with something they can use the next day, not just knowledge they might apply someday.

MT

Mentorship

Each participant is paired with a mentor who has relevant professional or entrepreneurial experience. Mentors provide one-on-one guidance throughout the programme and remain available through the alumni network after completion.

LM

Labour Market Alignment

Programme content is designed around what Moroccan employers and markets actually require, not theoretical frameworks. We consult local businesses, HR professionals, and entrepreneurs to keep our curriculum relevant.

SB

Step-by-Step Structure

Programmes are broken into clear weekly modules with specific milestones. Participants always know what they are building toward. No ambiguity, no filler sessions, no motivation talks without substance.

IC

Individual Coaching

Beyond group workshops, each participant receives individual coaching sessions to address their specific situation: CV gaps, interview anxiety, business model challenges, or personal development goals.

SP

Safeguarding

We maintain a safeguarding policy for all programmes. Facilitators undergo background verification. A designated safeguarding officer is available throughout each cycle. Incident reporting procedures are in place.

How to Join

Selection Process

1

Online Application

Complete a short form describing your current situation, your goals, and which programme interests you. No CV required for most programmes. Machrou3i asks for a brief description of your business idea. Qiyada asks for a summary of your leadership experience.

2

Brief Conversation

A 15-minute informal call with a programme coordinator. We want to understand your goals, assess which programme fits best, and set realistic expectations together. This is not a job interview.

3

Selection Criteria

For Moustaqbal and Raqami: priority to NEET youth, those without university education, and youth from peri-urban areas. For Machrou3i: viability and commitment to the business idea. For Qiyada: demonstrated prior leadership or volunteer experience.

4

Onboarding

Selected participants receive a welcome pack with the full programme schedule, resource materials, and an orientation session including a personal goal-setting exercise before the first workshop.

After the Programme

Alumni Pathway

Certificate and Portfolio

Every graduate receives a Medforumm Skills Certificate and a portfolio of work produced during the programme (CV, digital portfolio, business plan, or leadership development plan) ready for immediate use.

Mentorship Network

Graduates are connected to an ongoing mentorship network of professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who provide guidance on job applications, business development, and career decisions.

Erasmus+ Priority Access

Programme alumni receive priority consideration for Medforumm’s Erasmus+ opportunities, including youth exchanges, entrepreneurship training courses, and European Solidarity Corps placements focused on employability and skills.

Job and Opportunity Board

All graduates gain access to Medforumm’s internal opportunity board featuring job openings, freelance gigs, volunteer positions, and training programmes shared by our partner network across Morocco.

Accountability

Monitoring, Evaluation and Quality

01

Pre and Post Assessment

Every participant completes a skills self-assessment at the start and end measuring digital competence, professional readiness, entrepreneurial thinking, and leadership confidence.

02

Session Feedback

After each workshop, participants rate content relevance, facilitator quality, and practical applicability. Facilitators adjust upcoming sessions based on this data in real time.

03

3-Month Follow-Up

Three months after completion, our team contacts every graduate to track employment status, business progress, further training enrolment, or leadership role advancement.

04

Annual Impact Report

All data is compiled into an annual report shared publicly. We track employment rates, business launches, and skills application. We report honestly, including what did not work.
