Meeting with project Soar

Meeting with project Soar-Rabat
Launch Date: Sept 05, 2025 — Location: Rabat, Morocco
We held a face-to-face meeting with Project Soar in Rabat within the framework of the Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea project, which is co-funded with support from the European Commission.
The meeting created an open space for dialogue and gave both organisations the opportunity to exchange views on how to collaborate in areas such as youth empowerment, gender equality, and social inclusion. The discussions also stressed the importance of building safe and welcoming environments where young people, particularly young women, can strengthen their leadership skills, gain confidence, and take active roles in shaping the future of their communities.
Project Soar presented its long-standing experience in working with adolescent girls and highlighted practical approaches it has used to help them resist early marriage, defend their rights, and access equal opportunities. This contribution showed how focused initiatives can directly change the lives of young women and encourage them to become leaders in their own communities.
Med Forum Morocco explained the wider objectives of the Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea project, which include promoting dialogue among different cultures, encouraging mutual understanding, and developing peacebuilding activities across Mediterranean countries. The project aims not only to bring young people together but also to give them tools to become actors of positive change.
Our meeting demonstrated the shared commitment of both organisations to continue investing in young people as key drivers of transformation. Through this partnership, we seek to expand opportunities for youth participation, foster stronger intercultural dialogue, and support social cohesion both locally and across the wider region.
